A much more recent picture of myself!

I’ve had this blog a while now and have just discovered how to make adjustments to this section. So first and foremost, I am technologically ignorant. I prefer snail mail and phone calls than email and text messages. My name is Rainshadow Noba. No, not really, but it is what I will use here. I figured I’d give myself a new identity since I was also protecting the identity of my husband and kids. And well, it’s just fun to NOT be me once in a while.

I’m 20-something years old, have two kids and a husband in the Army. My daughter has an Autism Spectrum Disorder, just like her Momma. My son has sensory issues and a speech delay. I’m an Aspie Girl, though not on paper. On paper, I have Bipolar Disorder with psychotic features (nice, eh?).

I never know what to write about in these sections. Do you talk about your family? Your blogs missions and goals? Your best friend three states away who also has a penchant for snail mail? Well, I’ve covered family, however briefly. My blog is about what I’m feeling in the moment, though I do love to write and draw and be creative. And “Claire Bear” really does live three states away and has a penchant for snail mail.

I’m a rambler, so here’s a cheer to my rambling blog! HOOAH!

Thanks for stopping by mine… your blog is intriguing so far (I’ve only gotten to today’s 1st page since I’m between cooking supper, ironing, and shushing B to keep it down since it’s Sunday and we’re supposed to be Q-U-I-E-T…haha!) Anyway, fellow Army wife, be strong, as strong as you need to be. Tchuess!

    • Thanks for visiting here as well… It’s an interesting life, but it’s ours. I read through some of your “downrangemama” blogs. It’s fascinating to get the perspective of someone who has been there, even more so, since my husband will be downrange in a matter of weeks. Remember:

      There’s Strong.
      There’s Army Strong.
      Then there’s Army Wife Strong.

    • Gee thanks πŸ˜›

Thanks hun… I too thought about the “tag-backs” loophole, but chose not to fall into it (undoubtedly in fear). I’ll try to get the post out today or tomorrow. Gonna be a mighty stressful day today… There may be vodka involved after the kids go to bed lol Or a lot of chocolate… Or both.

Hello! I just wanted to stop by and let you know I’ve nominated you for the Addictive Blog Award πŸ™‚ You can find out more about it here:

  7. Hi there. I don’t know if you are any closer to finding a doctor to evaluate you… but I don’t know if you have ever heard this episode of “This American Life”.. listen to Act 2. When I read your gravatar profile I thought of this. Be well.

    • I’m still looking for one who has done adult diagnoses that is also covered by insurance and is in my local area. Driving interstates is very difficult for me and I may have to wait until my husband returns from Afghanistan.

Thank you for the link. I loved listening to this. I have never heard of it before, but it totally fits. My husband and I have been working on things similar to this. My husband will often bring “missteps” to my attention once we are out of the situation. He doesn’t want to embarrass me by saying something in the moment. I emailed the link to my husband too. I’ve done online assessments using different tools (questionnaires and photo identification tools) and they all say the same thing. I just need a doctor to put it on paper.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks again for the link πŸ˜€

Hey there! My friend and I were talking about doing the 30-Day drawing challenge part 2 (new list for another 30 days), and I wanted to see if you were interested in doing it with us. I hope so. Let me know.

  10. Don says:

I have part 3 somewhere, but not part 4. Didn’t know there WAS a part 4. Cool. So, so far there are 4 other blogs participating too (besides you and me). I’ll link to all of them in my posts, if you want to go check them out.

Looking forward to drawing with you!

    • Can’t wait to get started!

      • Don says:

Hey there. I know you haven’t been feeling fantastic – are you holding up? I hope you can get caught up on the challenge soon; you’re a pretty good artist and I’d love to see your responses. πŸ˜€ But first, hope you start feeling better. That’s the most important.

      • Thanks for checking up on me. I have been drawing, I just haven’t found the energy to post them yet… I’m working on it. I think I just need to get out for a bit. I’m taking the kids to the zoo tomorrow with some friends. Maybe getting out of the city for a bit will help refresh my brain. My husband will be home soon-ish and there’s just so much stress; I feel like I can’t ever relax.

I promise to be caught up this week πŸ™‚
